Hatch-Billops Collection, incorporated and
chartered under the New York State Board of Regents as a not-for-profit
research library, was founded in 1975 for three major purposes:
- To collect and preserve primary and secondary resource materials
in the Black Cultural Arts
- To provide tools and access to these materials for artists
and scholars, as well as the general public
- To develop programs in the arts that use the resources of
the Collection
